California law and regulation requires that regional centers display on their Web sites information about the dollar value of services they purchase for clients. These data (called "purchase of service" or "POS" data) must be reported separately by clients' ethnic/racial group, langauge and diagnosis.
Partnering with Fathers
Lanterman Regional Center Presents a virtual workshop - Partnering with Fathers - with facilitator Deutron Kebebew from the Brazelton Touchpoints Center on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Fathers bring unique ways of parenting that offer important benefits for children’s development, learning and wellbeing. Whether living together or not, when two caregivers are raising a child, and are able to partner to complement the gifts that each of them can bring, everyone benefits. In this workshop, we will discuss strategies to engage fathers in early childhood programs and family-focused services, and to support parents as co-partners.
Audience: Fathers, mothers, professionals who work with families of young children, including early educators, child care providers, mental health consultants, pediatricians, early interventionists, and Regional Center staff.
Deutron Kebebew is a father, husband, and a mentor to fathers, father figures, and young people in our community. He is the Founder and Executive Director of MENtors Driving Change for Boys, Men and Dads, a local social justice nonprofit organization. Previously, Deutron managed and directed the Supporting Father Involvement (SFI) evidence-based clinical research project for over a decade in Santa Cruz County (California) in partnership with UC Berkeley and Yale University.
