California law and regulation requires that regional centers display on their Web sites information about the dollar value of services they purchase for clients. These data (called "purchase of service" or "POS" data) must be reported separately by clients' ethnic/racial group, langauge and diagnosis.
Housing Rights Center - Disability Rights Seminar
The Housing Rights Center is California’s largest nonprofit, civil-rights organization dedicated to identifying impediments to fair housing and combating discrimination. Each year, HRC hosts a topical seminar aimed at addressing civil rights and social justice issues affecting communities throughout Southern California.
The event will focus on raising awareness and addressing issues surrounding housing rights for people with disabilities. Topics will include the concepts of reasonable accommodation and modification, FHA and ADA basics, companion and service animals, and the importance of fighting against stigma and disability discrimination.
Seating is limited and registration is required. Individuals interested in attending the seminar are encouraged to mail or drop off the registration form along with payment to the Housing Rights Center as soon as possible. The Housing Rights Center is located at 520 South Virgil Avenue, Suite 400, Los Angeles, CA 90020. Registration fees include continental breakfast, reserved parking, and educational materials.
