The Office of Life, Justice and Peace invites you to a virtual session, “Creating Spaces of Inclusion to Embrace and Pastorally Accompany Special Needs Families at Parishes”. They invite Clergy, Parish/School and other Ministry leaders to learn about what has worked for families to educate their children with special needs in the faith and more fully engage in the life of the parish community.

Meet your presenters: 

Dr. Joyce Show is a physician-mom of seven, the sixth being Peter, a college-student who has autism and types to communicate. She has a private practice in internal medicine devoted to serving individuals with autism and other developmental disorders and their families. She holds professional certification in development, has taught autism parent education classes in floor time, and has authored books and articles on supporting the development of children with autism.

Nancy Brady received her Master’s in Special Education from Chapman University and her certificate in Assistive Technology from Cal State Dominguez Hills. Nancy has worked as an Inclusion Specialist in South Orange County in both public and parochial schools. Nancy specializes in including those with the most severe needs, especially non-speaking autism and those who use AAC to communicate.
