This Community Forum will be regarding the reformation of an Independent Living Center serving many families living in the Lanterman catchment area. The new Independent Living Center will be in East Los Angeles and extend north to many communities in the San Gabriel Valley. Recently, the federal and state government withdrew grants from Community Rehabilitation Services which led to that Center's closure in early March. This closure has an immediate impact upon many consumers and families served in the Lanterman Regional Center catchment area.
The Community Forum will be an opportunity for people with disabilities, their families, and community stakeholders to share input and public comment regarding the needs and priorities on those living in this ILC catchment area.

Regional centers must post information regarding how providers are doing with ensuring individuals served are part of their communities (Welfare and Institutions Code section 4519.2(b)). This information is to be updated at least every six months until DDS has determined that statewide compliance has been met.
