Assistive Technology
Assistive technology is any device, software or resource that can increase skills and maximize an individual’s potential. Due to:
- economic,
- language,
- cultural
- educational barriers, or
- the disability itself,
adults, as well as families with children who have special needs, sometimes have difficulty accessing conventional resources.
Often, there are technologies available that can help increase the opportunities of individuals with developmental disabilities and enhance the quality of life for them and their families.
Autism and Evidence Based Treatment
CalABLE
Do you or a loved one have a developmental disability? Ever wished you could save more money without losing your federal benefits? Now you can.
The Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act makes it possible for people with developmental disabilities to have up to $100,000 in savings at any time – and to put away $14,000 a year towards that limit – without losing access to important federal supports.
Community Navigator
The Navigator provides one-to-one support for parents and caregivers, education and navigation support with regional center services and generic community resources.

Health and Wellness
The health and wellness of the individuals we serve at Lanterman is an important focus of the Center and we believe that knowledge and information are key components to ensuring that the individuals we serve stay healthy.
Koch-Young Resource Center
The Koch-Young Resource Center provides information, education and support for people with developmental disabilities, families with children who have special needs, Lanterman staff, professionals and the general community.
Language Access and Cultural Competency Plan (LACC)
The Language Access and Cultural Competency (LACC) program, guided by community input, supports the diverse needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, their caregivers and their family members by providing more consistent access to information and resources for multi-lingual, mono-lingual and diverse cultures, ethnicities and languages.
Network of Care
On Lanterman’s Network of Care site you will find a listing of community-based resources for children and adults. The resources on the site are searchable by several criteria, including by category of the resource, and location/area.
