Launching in March 2026, in honor of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, the latest Lanterman and Friends series brings Mark Hamill into the cast.
The award-winning “Lanterman and Friends” (L&F) series of video shorts empowers individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) served by California’s Regional Centers, along with their families and dedicated support professionals.
The latest 10-episode series shines a light on emergency preparedness and public safety, featuring the legendary Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker, The Joker) as the heroic Lanterman. RJ Mitte (Breaking Bad), the inspiring actor and disabilities advocate reprises his role as Lorenzo while taking on the role of Co-Executive Producer. Alongside him are talented voice actors with I/DD, Alex Ehlers, Nelly Navarre, and Davis Harper, creating a powerful sense of community.
This timely series provides essential guidance on emergency and natural disaster preparedness tailored for individuals with I/DD and their families. Additionally, it includes customized versions for service providers across the State. All videos were developed in close collaboration with Regional Center Emergency Coordinators.
