Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director, Community Services is responsible for resource development to meet client needs, vendorization of identified service providers, client employment services, affordable housing development, ensuring that services provided to clients meet all regulatory standards, as well as the day to day management of the Community Services unit.
In addition, this position oversees the development and implementation of quality enhancement activities, including training and technical assistance to service providers, as well as implementation of the Center’s Employment First Policy. Resource development will be targeted in areas identified in the Performance Contract, Community Resource Development Plan, and other sources for identifying the services clients need. Quality Assurance in all aspects of the Unit will be targeted in areas identified by regulation, Performance Contract and/or demonstrated need.
Education & Experience
The ideal candidate will be required to have a bachelor’s degree in sociology, psychology, education or related human service field and a minimum of four (4) years of increasingly responsible related professional experience, including planning and development or management. A master’s degree may substitute for one (1) year of required experience on a year-to-year basis for a maximum of two (2) years.
This position is not a 40-hour/5 day-a-week position. The incumbent will be required to work long and varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
Valid California driver’s license, current automobile insurance and adequate transportation are required. Substantial equivalents may be substituted for the above requirements.
