Welfare & Institutions Code section 4519.5 requires the Department of Developmental Services (Department) and regional centers (RCs) to annually collaborate to compile data relating to POS expenditure, authorization, and utilization.
After publication at the end of each calendar year, each RC must meet with stakeholders in a public meeting regarding the data. Annually by August 31st, following the public stakeholder meetings, each RC must post a POS Annual Meeting Report to its website. The report must include the following:
- Actions the RC takes to improve public attendance and participation at stakeholder meetings, including, but not limited to, attendance and participation by underserved communities.
- Copies of minutes from the meeting and attendee comments.
- Whether the data described in this section indicate a need to reduce disparities in the purchase of services among individuals in the RC’s catchment area. If the data do indicate that need, the RC’s recommendations and plan to promote equity and reduce disparities.
This is the first year that data will be posted on the DDS website rather than on individual regional center websites.
