You will learn the basics of what to expect from Lanterman as your child turns 3 and enters school. Learn about your role, what to expect and how to prepare.

Your Child’s First IEP
Learn what to expect, your role in the IEP team, and how to prepare. An IEP is a contract between you and the school. We’ll walk through the document page by page so you can understand what’s included.

School District Services and Placement Options
What services can you expect from your school district after age 3? Learn about what is available through the school district: What’s the difference between OT and PT? Is there more than one type of special education class? How can I get behavior support for my child – and more.

Tuesday, April 2, 6 to 8 p.m.
Understanding Evaluations
Learn what an evaluation may consist of, what it tells us about a child, how to understand the scores, and how the evaluation shapes the educational plan.

When the District Says “No”
Lean about what to do when the district denies your request or violates your child’s rights. Due Process is not the only option.
