Graphic titled "Coordinated CFS Family Support - An individualized service introduced in 2023," reading "CFS is designed to help adults who receive regional center services continue living independently and comfortably in their family homes," over a photo of four generations of a family sitting together outdoors.

We are spotlighting Coordinated Family Support (CFS) for this 60 Highlights for 60 Years post. CFS is an individualized service introduced in 2023, designed to help adults who receive regional center services continue living independently and comfortably in their family homes.

Highly personalized and adaptable, CFS evolves alongside the changing needs and preferences of each individual and their family. Every service is delivered with deep respect for the individual’s language, culture and unique home environment.

CFS provides assistance and supports that allow adults to continue living in their family home such as:

  • Building independent living skills at home
  • Scheduling and coordinating existing services
  • Connecting the individuals to community activities and local self-advocacy groups
  • Helping them plan for the future and understand their diagnosis
  • Training their support providers and securing back-up care

Lanterman currently has 8 vendors providing CFS services. Support is available in:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Armenian
  • Russian
  • Korean
  • Cantonese
  • Mandarin
  • Taiwanese
  • Vietnamese

Here’s a small sample of real-life, meaningful outcomes families have achieved with the assistance of our CFS vendors.
