Big milestones call for big celebrations! During Disability Pride Month and the 60th anniversary of Lanterman Regional Center, we are incredibly proud to spotlight Sean Kim!

In May 2026 Sean achieved a massive milestone graduating from Cal State Northridge with his bachelor’s degree! He has also been accepted into a CSUN internship and is actively pursuing his dream of becoming an actor.

As a participant in the Self-Determination Program, Sean credits much of his success to the dedicated supports, services, service coordinators, and Koch-Young Resource Center staff who have cheered him on every step of the way.

His mother, Ms. Joungim Kim, shared a powerful reflection on their journey: “Sometimes I reflect on where we would be without Lanterman… I cannot imagine Sean’s life without it now. I am deeply grateful for all the support. Sean worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone… It is Sean who deserves all the credit and gratitude.”

Sean and his mother remind us all to take life step-by-step, do our best, and truly enjoy each stage of the journey. Help us congratulate Sean on this great milestone in his life!
