As Lanterman Regional Center celebrates 60 years of service, we are proud to recognize not only the organization’s achievements but also the invaluable contributions of our community partners who have helped support individuals and families throughout the years.

One such partner is Bertha Rodriguez of Atwater Park Center. With more than 20 years of experience at Atwater Park Center Education and Childcare and over 40 years dedicated to serving children with developmental disabilities, Ms. Rodriguez has been a trusted advocate and resource for countless families. She serves as the liaison between Lanterman Regional Center and Atwater Park Center and is often the first point of contact for families referred to the Center.

Reflecting on her work, Ms. Rodriguez shares, “This has been a very rewarding job, seeing the progress that the children make during their time at our Center and helping families navigate what can sometimes be a very complicated world of special needs.”

Over the years, Ms. Rodriguez has witnessed firsthand the positive impact that Lanterman’s services have on children with developmental disabilities and their families. She notes that these supports strengthen not only the individuals served but also their family members and the broader community.

As a reminder to our community, Atwater Park Center has long served as a convenient drop-off and pick-up location for Koch-Young Resource Center (KYRC) library materials. Patrons may return items at Atwater Park Center by notifying KYRC Wilshire or Brand staff via phone or e-mail.

We thank Ms. Rodriguez and Atwater Park Center for their decades of partnership and dedication to improving the lives of children and families in our community.
