Intake Specialist - Intake (Bilingual Spanish/English)

Salary Range

$3,835 to $5,802


The Intake Specialist coordinates services during the Intake process, and ensures that assessment and eligibility decisions are completed within mandated timelines. In addition, ensures that persons with developmental disabilities and their families receive services and supports consistent with their individual concerns, desires and priorities.

Knowledge and understanding of developmental disabilities, theories and stages of human growth and development, interview, counseling and crisis intervention techniques, and knowledge of medical and psychological terminology. Knowledge of case management and intake process, and the ability to relate to applicants and clients from a wide variety of culturally diverse backgrounds. Ability to utilize and apply required knowledge, establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Education & Experience

A bachelors degree in social work, psychology, human development, sociology, public health nursing or a related field, behavioral, special education or related human services field and three years professionally related experience, preferable working with persons with developmental disabilities. A master’s degree in a related field can be substituted for the required experience.

Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Valid California driver license, current automobile insurance and adequate transportation to fulfill position responsibility is also required.
