November 6: Come Learn Origami ~ The Art of Folding Paper

Join Lanterman’s Koch-Young Resource Center and Parent Volunteer Josephine Ko for origami lessons.

Origami supplies will be provided.

Classes will be held at the Resource Center on Tuesdays in November from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The dates are November 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2012.

November 9: Baby Play Days for Children Birth to Two Years of Age

Come and join the Koch-Young Resource Center  for a monthly play day for children birth to two years of age and their parents. Enjoy access to KYRC toys and play equipment, while getting to know other families.

The play days will be held on the second Friday of every month at Lanterman Regional Center:

- Friday, November 9, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

- Friday, December 14, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

November 13: IEP and Inclusion

This session of the IEP and Inclusion training is being offered in English and is for families with school-age children. Scheduled for Tuesday, November 13, 2012, from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at AbilityFirst in Pasadena, the topics that will be covered include:

- A general overview of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process
- Eligibility requirements for school district special education services
- Special education rights and responsibilities
- Importance of inclusion at school and in the community
- Tips for successfully including your child

Presenters at the training will include an attorney from the Whittier Law Clinic and a regional manager from Lanterman.
