April 23 ~ Conservatorship, Special Needs Trusts and WillsThis training helps families plan for the future, and covers the following topics: conservatorship,special needs trusts, and wills. Scheduled to be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the speaker will be Attorney Pat Huth. The training will be held at Lanterman Regional Center in the Koch-Young Resource Center.

May 3 ~ Performing Arts Studio West Celebrates 15th Anniversary with Fundraiser Musical “Recovered” Performing Arts Studio West will celebrate its 15th anniversary this year by producing a one-night musical extravaganza fund raiser on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 8 p.m. at the beautiful 500-seat James R. Armstrong Theater located at 3330 Civic Center Drive, Torrance, CA 90503. The new show is called "Recovered," a musical and theatrical experience featuring freshly realized versions of popular rock and pop songs performed by singers, dancers and actors with developmental disabilities, including the talents of Lanterman clients Danielle Dejean and August McAdoo (vocalists), Isaac Leyva and Michael Rice (actors), and Bahareh Saviss (dancer). The performance will feature innovative versions of music by Lady Gaga, The Ting Tings, Crosby Stills & Nash, Radiohead, The Doors, Annie Lennox, The Beatles, Edie Brickell, The Police, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin, Duran Duran, The Animals, and Sly and the Family Stone. Among the songs to be performed LIVE are People Are Strange, Creep, Dazed and Confused, Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood, Ordinary World, Piece of My Heart and Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin). May 11 ~ Signing Time Foundation Presents Rachel Coleman LIVE in Los Angeles Emmy-nominated Rachel Coleman, host of Signing Time, will be performing for children and families in the Hollywood Hills on May 11, 2013 starting at 2:30 p.m. at The Hall of Liberty, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068. The VIP event starts at 1 p.m. VIP ticket holders get the best seats, a chance to skip the line at the end, a more intimate meet-and-greet with Rachel before the concert and an easier time getting autographs and pictures with Rachel and Hopkins. The event will be interpreted in American Sign Language for Deaf and Hard-of Hearing patrons. |
