Louis Mitchell is currently a senior marketing strategist with MUFG Union Bank. He has over 25 years of a wide-range of marketing and management experience with several major banks (First Interstate, Wells Fargo and Banco Popular). Mitchell is fluent in Spanish and has also served as a company spokesperson in both languages.
Mitchell became aware of Lanterman Regional Center in 1997 as a direct result of his late daughter's needs. As he began in 2005, and eventually completed, the former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan Leadership Development Program which prepares professionals to serve on boards, he began serving on Lanterman's board. In 2007, he resigned his position because he moved to Anaheim to work as the bilingual marketing director for Banco Popular. In 2011, Mitchell moved back to Los Angeles and returned to serving on Lanterman's board. During his tenure, Mitchell has served in many roles, including First Vice President, chair of the Nominating Committee, memeber of the Strategic and Executive Committees, and as Secretary.
Mitchell has an extensive service history on boards that includes: Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, Center for the Arts Eagle Rock, American Heart Association - Corazones Unidos Committee, and Wells Fargo Latino Resource and Diversity Councils.
In his spare time, he is an Argentine Tango dance instructor, enjoys surfing and playing the piano.
